Woman with Flu
Flu is fast upon us. Your most important defense against the flu is good handwashing! Next is getting your flu shot. This year the vaccine is trivalent, meaning it contains 3 different types of flu virus; 2009 pandemic influenza A (H1N1) and 2 other influenza strains expected to be active this flu season. This is the only flu vaccine available and is intended to be given even if you had the H1N1 vaccine last flu season. See our Flu Season guide for the most current guidelines for vaccinating children.

Currently we are offering vaccines for high risk patients including:

  • Pregnant women
  • All children between the ages of 6 mos and 5 yrs
  • Adults caring for children 6 mos and younger
  • Patients between 5 and 64yrs old, who have a chronic illnesse (ie-diabetes, asthma, chronic respiratory disease, immunosupressant disease).

We will begin giving vaccines to anyone who comes in for an appointment starting in October, 2010. Please keep checking with the clinic for the latest information.
